I had to change out my stock rear tire at 10,000 miles. It was done. The front tire is about had it with only 11,000 on it. I have a fiew more miles left int the front tire but im going to have to get a new one soon. The scorchers where OK for wear. I thought they would be better.

There is a fellow on youtube that is doing some research on the Michilin Commander tire. Said results would be out in the spring. If the tire last twice as long as the OEM tires as they claim that would be very impressive. Nice looking tread pattern though, wish it came with raised white letters.

I've replaced my stock Dunlops with Metz 880 marathons on my last 3 tire changes and 3 different bikes and they are just that good.
This time however I went with the radial Metz and so far so good.
Radial on the rear with radial tube and the stock bias Dunlop in the front. Many miles left on the front.

What's the differences with "sports bike" tires ?
If they are the same size it should fit no ?

I think, most 'sportsbikes' are considered to be crotch rocket, cafe racer style bikes. When I buy for my wide glide I always look in the 'cruiser' sections. I found the best online deal for a set of Metzler 880's for my WG was here- http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/

They also can steer you to a local shop (to you) that will let you drop ship your tires to the shop, and the shop gives you a better rate for mounting and balancing your new tires. I went this route and it worked out sweet, and I saved over a couple hundred $$'s on my deal.

A friend is a die hard metzeler guy, he tried the michelin scorcher and said he was amazed by how much better they ride and handle/turn. Hasn't had them long enough for wear.

I had pretty much decided on the ME 880's until I came across an ad for the Michelin Commanders. The OE Michelin Scorchers have done a good job. By the time I do replace them I should have 10K miles on them. My only complaint is the aggravating buzzing they make in a turn. I assume that is coming from the HD logo molded into the shoulder. They ride fine, and the wet/dry traction has been good. Hopefully there will be some evaluations on the Commander coming out soon.

I was going to try some of those Dunlaps, a new style, not the old HD Dunlap. But they did not have them available for the 21" front my WG runs.

I think newer technology comes about with newer and better tires for our bikes. Its just filtering through the junk to ensure we get the best for our scoots that's the problem.

I'm in canada so the shipping is ripping me off.

I still wonder If a "crotch rocket" tire would fit what would be the differences ? Theyre a whole lot of brand.
