Size wise, if it matches up, I'm sure it would fit. After that, hell who knows. Like I was trying to say, this industry is changing all the time. How can any one person know for sure which is best suited for your situation? So we go and ask others who might have some of that experience and we'd probably always ask those that ride the same kind of bike for their take on it. So what kind of riding you do needs to be considered. To me thats probably a good place to start. If you ride em like speed racer in the twistys it seems a tire best suited for that type of riding would be a good choice. That's when you start looking at the tire of choice for sportbike riders.

But its still an expensive guessing game. I have had good luck with Dunlops but these Metzlers are better in the rain, the ride seems to be better (although I need new shocks....lol) and they were cheaper.

Try calling the motorcycle superstore and talk to one of the people there. Maybe shipping isn't as bad as you think utilizing their drop ship method. Never hurts to ask.

the metzlers are good all around tire and last forever my last set was 16,000 rear and 21,000 front. I am tempted to try the night dragons but overall am happy with metzlers,
they handle great, but lets face it they are a hard dense rubber compound and i can and do break them free very easily

The ME880's are touring tires. The compounds are formulated for wear and not extreme grip. If you consistently push the bike hard into the corners, you might want to go with a softer compound, like what is on the sport bikes. There is no such thing as a tire that will go 15K+ mikes and have extreme grip.

yea i know and like i said they are overall great tires, feel good on highway, feel good in turns and last a long time. All i was saying is that they are a hard tire that you can break loose in a straight line and they are not for everyone. I wanted to make sure the op was aware of that before he made his decision. I stick with them because i ride too many miles a year to have a soft rubber tire.

My next set of tires are going to be an Avon Storm2 in 190/50R-17 on the rear and an Avon Venom AM41 110/90H-19 on the front. This is a 2009 FXDC, Had good mileage on the dunlops with no problems, and had good results with the Metzlers wjth less mileage than the stock Dunlops.. I dont know what the Avons will do for mileage but I'm going to give them a try next...

Happy with my Night Dragons, no where near as hard of compound as Metz with no where near the life of Metz, but sure is a good ride and sticks to the road at maybe 1/2 the life, so that equates to more safety for me. Besides, I don't believe Metz has a 180 for th Dynas

Unfortunately the roads around here are flat and straight, so the only time I get into any twisties is our yearly trip up to the Parkway. If the Commanders can equal the ME880s in mileage, I'll probably go that route since they are $50 cheaper for the pair. Thanks for the input guys.

We recommend Metz ME 880 or Avon Cobra/Venom tires to our customers- both are top quality tires but Metz is made with a harder compound which leads to a bit more mileage in the long term.

If you're thinking about putting a crotch rocket tire on your bike go to the manufactures website and check the load/speed rating for the tire. There is a huge difference in ratings for the same size tires. Make sure you get one that is built for the extra weight a Harley has over a crotch rocket.

I run Avons and will stick with them next time.
