Anti-theft locks for the windshield and saddlebags.
Saddlebag inserts

The only other thing would be saddlebag guards (I know, I know, out of the question along with my desire to have cruise control but I can dream).

Now your turn.
Speaking of "saddlebag guards," Anybody know of a way to take/buff out scratches on the hard bags? I've got a couple nasty scratches--my own fault, being stupid. Any ideas?

You might not like our bikes but truth is I don't give a **** what you like or don't like.
Well said!

You know, the more i look at that front fender and comparing with the flh and duo-glides, the more I'm determined to figure out what it needs. Chopping it works in my mind's eye but it may just blow the vibe I'm going for. The painter I talked with yesterday is willing to figure it out with me and perhaps the answer is trim afterall and not a chop, I dunno. I don't want to copy the duo-glide per se but I love that vibe while attempting to bring it to the 21st century, lol.
It's a fun quest.
Small Eagle or FLH type Trim w/yellow lense?? Even small chrome letters FLD on the side of the fender might work??
Thought about pin stripping but haven't found a color or style that would work. The red paint is just too nice. hate to take away from it.

Leather engine guard lowers, not from HD.

A lot of the items addressed in this list can be found elsewhere in the aftermarket or with a little work. Lowering kits and other suspension are readily available. The frame on the FLD is not different rear shock wise then any other Dyna from '06 and up and there are tons of options. Other parts can be powder coated if they aren't available in a color you want. If you want dual front brakes I bet you could use FL touring lower sliders and install dual brakes off one of the touring bikes and use a wheel made for them. Just my .02

Default Nixing chopped fender idea

I'm totally OFF the idea I had of chopping the front fender and going to go with fender trim/accents that are subtle and kinda late 60's early 70's for now.

Went to a great shop today called RoadDogCustom in Santa Fe Springs, CA and the owner Leo (old schooler like me) spent a lot of time with me trying out various ideas. Chopping that front fender would be exactly opposite of the vibe I'm envisioning. I've seen the light! LOL He just happened to have a duo-glide parked right next to me.

You would not believe how much it wakes up with some simple fender trim. We put a bunch of different stuff up to it that he had around the shop, little things make big overall differences.

He encouraged me to go slow and let each vibe sink in before going on to the next...good advice and I'm gonna slow my role and follow that advice. I'm gonna have to satisfy my need for instant gratification in some other way, I guess. Shoot, lol.

His employees were trippin on the fld as none of them had seen one in person and one sat there for a good 15 minutes just taking it all in. He called it a dyna on steroids. Long range plan is to somehow lower the bags, but I'm sick of thinking about them so I'll just keep them off for now and tie my stuff to my new rack when it's done.

Default I don't get all these options

With a list like this why not buy a Road King or Glide? 6 gallon tank...
Why lower the bike when someone 5'-3" is already flat footed?

I think really the issue is base cost and weight on a different model.

So, if you think about it, how much lighter is a Road Glide with carbon wheels and a titanium swingarm? Probably the same weight as this Switchback and its loaded with options.

I am targeting this seeing model to see how to make it even lighter, better suspension and of course some more HP. This is where I'd like to see HD improve because the average Joe public can't shave pounds easily off the frame or reasonably make adjustments in handling and ride.

And, after I'm done I don't care if some idiot calls it a Road Queen. If they feel bad about being totally outclassed in the curves its not my fault they prefer a tractor for transportation.

Yes this is problem can be solved. Buff the top of the saddle bags with maguires scratch remover with a electric buffer until the scratch is min. Then use maguires prem wax. put ten coats of wax by coating the saddle bags letting dry between coats. then buff by hand to get the residue off the polish with buffer. do not try this in the sun the saddlebags must be cool to the touch before polishing with scratch remover.
