I'm thinking of adding 4" fork extensions with 12" apes to my '06 Superglide. Want that raked look. I know I will have to get all new cables ($$ ouch!!). I already have 4" risers with 2" pullbacks. Just wondering if anyone has done this. I want to see the results before I spend the cash.
Longer forks are not going to give you a raked look, just adding 4" to the front end without adding rake will look ridiculous in my personal opinion.
To really get a raked look on your SG you would need to add 6-8 degrees just to get to the same rake as a Wide Glide and I would not recommend you add that much.
I went to a wide glide front end on mine. You can actually get a triple tree kit that will accomplish what you are looking for. Check link below. I have seen them cheaper. Try ebay search wide glide conversion.
before you start buying stuff figure out what you want your rack and trail to be set at. you need to add degrees of rack with longer tubes or your trail will be off and the bike will handle like $h1t not to mention dangerous.
Thanks for the advice. After posting, I researched a little bit and found some triple trees that would add about 5 degrees and lengthen my forks. Should I also lower the rear end? If so, about how much? By the way, I replaced my pillow seat with the original ribbed seat and found that it sits me back an inch or so and lowers me about an inch. The added stretch is much more comfortable than before. Now I have to decide whether to have Mean City redo the original seat or look at aftermarket seats. Does it ever end? I just want to keep modifying.

If you really want to add that much rake, a much better plan would be to buy a good used 06+ Wide Glide frame, that would give you 34 degrees of rake in the neck instead of raking the trees 5 degrees.
