Teflon paste on fluid drain plugs

Teflon paste on fluid drain plugs
Ok, I have the fixyourhog dvds. They say "coat every drain plug thread with "teflon paste." I cannot find this stuff at auto supply stores. The hd dealership did not know what I was talking about.
What are you all doing with you drain plugs, including fork drain screws? I just want to keep em from leaking.

plumbing supply houses have it, ace hardware stores, home depot, etc. do not use a lot and wipe off excess

Go to your local Napa and ask for Permatex brand pipe dope. The smooth stuff works great but the tape works fine its just harder to wrap a small plug. Rule of thumb is two wraps around.

if you mess up and get the chunky stuff, just put some on a flat surface and mix it up a bit. 
and if you use teflon tape wrap it in the direction of the threads. otherwise it will screw off when you install the plug.
