I think (??????) stock 06 FXDI is 62 hp (don't quote me)............. You should be able to get about 74 hp with the mods/ torque in the high 70s (depends on tuner, and what the dyno says). Not all dynos are equal.
Besides the obvious horsepower gain, you should notice a great improvement in driveability with the PC. You'll probably notice that the bike is much happier in 6th gear at speeds under 70 than it used to be. Stage 1
(your proposed mods ) is a huge improvement . Do it ! Good luck Clint
You'll probably notice the increased torque more than the additional hp, but it is a great starting point. Just be warned that it can lead to other things like upgraded cams, bigger bore cylinders, headwork, etc. The only downside to all of the additional goodies in in your wallet, but hey, you'd only spend the money on something anyway.
This is a copy of my Dyno. It's after i installed Vance & Hines big shots, and a Hypercharger, No other performance mods were done. The 2 different runs are before the RE-mapping and after. I used a SERT for the tuning.
Vinny, just curious: you seem interested in getting power from your bike. Have you considered going with a 2-into-1 exhaust instead of the Shortshots? You may already know that you'll make more power that way.
honestly i think the bike has enough power now. was just curious what was gonna happen. no offense but i really dont care for 2 into 1 looks. i just moved up from a 700cc virago with straight pipes. so 1450cc is awesome. the only reason i'm doing the pcIII and a/c is because i don't wanna screw up my bike by just putting pipes on.
I added the KN filter RK 3909, PCIII preprogrammed from Fuel Moto, and the Vance and Hines Straight Shot slipons. No more surging, ran much cooler, and the second time I got on it, quickly hit the rev limiter, had never done that in the first 3000 miles! I have to thank the people on this site for all the great postings that helped inform me on the parts. I don't have any dyno figures, but seat of the pants, it is a great improvement over stock, the bike runs as it should have out the door.
Hi,if you don't mind me asking what's the seat arrangement on you bike,Thanks.
