I thought I saw a posting on this a long time ago but can't seem to find anything on this topic. There was a little accident in my garage over the weekend and the side of my tank received a few little scratchs. Is there a good touch-up paint out there to fix this problem?

The dealer sells it, but its pricely. I think the little touch up bottle was over $30. So i just let my beauty marks stay.
Too add a bit more.....The company who was in the garage and scratched the paint job wants a quote to repaint the whole tank. Would the dealer be able to give me a quote? I'll then take the money, buy the touch up paint and spend the rest on accessories.
Sucks to be me. They have the Denim Black and Denim Pewter, BUT no Denim Red.
That sinks, the Denim Red is an awesome color.

I don't deal with the dealerships too much so I don't know if they do body work but if they do I'm sure they'll be the highest quote you can get. If the tank damage isn't too bad, and can be touched up with a pen, spending the rest on accessories is a great plan.
apologize if this constitutes a thread hijack just wondering if you used the eggshell clear coat after painting your fender to get the denim the right color.. thank you.

I didn't put the clear coat on the fender. The literature that came with the paint stated:
"The color you have purchased is a Flat or Mat finish color. It does not require a clear coat for it to match the finish on your vehicle". "Under normal riding conditions, the mat/flat colors we have developed will have sufficient durability to last for years. Riding, washing, polishing your vehicle will not harm the finish". "We have developed this color to not require a clear coat due to inconsistencies in flat/eggshell types of clear. It has proven to be difficult to obtain the correct type of finish with these flat/eggshell clear coats since many flat/mat colors have slight, but varying degrees of gloss".
They do however suggest their eggshell clear coat kit if you plan on painting your fuel tank as gasoline spills can harm the finish.
The paint job on the fender is holding up great and looks spot on. I ordered the proper clear coat kit through Color Rite but decided to use that on my tank when I get around to repainting that. I figure if the color is slightly off when applying the clear to the tank I'll go ahead and shoot the fenders again using the clear coat.
