Default Another few winter mods complete

Heys guys and gals i finished my mod working on all my bags and give me your honest opinions-like or dislike-you would do it to yours or what you would do different.

So i wanted to mount some speakers on rear of the bike. I mounted them on the insides of the bag toward the bike. Kinda stealthy you cant see them but you can hear them.

These are 6-1/2 ell-cheap-o's to get me started to see if i would like them, good marine grade ones will be next with a small amp.

Showing how far they stick out from bag

i also sprayed the bags and trunk with sound deading rubberized spray to cut down on the hollow plastic sound

Heres the speaker wire going from the bag to under the rear fender, i put it in some plastic flex to protect it from rubbing

I got a package of rubber grommetts from the autoparts store and used one of them here to bring the speaker wires through the fender to under the seat. My wire is 18 gauge wire that i have had on a 250 ft spool for years so yeah i know its old-but it works!!

Heres the hiding the wires by the jugs.

So time to hook wires to fairing and the radio, but there is no hole to fish the wires into. I didnt want it to look like **** so i drilled a hole in fairing and put another grommett in it just below the cable that feeds power to it.

Closer view of hole and grommett

I went to put the lids back on the bags and the damn little cheap *** screws that came with them 2 out of 4 stripped and wouldnt grab **** and YEAH OF COURSE THEY WERE METRIC!!!! So i went to the hardware store and got me some AMERICAN STANDARD 1/4-20 STAINLESS SCREWS WITH ACORN NUTS!!!! I had to drill through the hinge and kinda gave it a studded look. They wont strip again!!!!

Ok guys heres the final pic from inside the bag. Thats what ive been doing these last few days. Give me your thoughts and suggestions!!!!

So, the speakers are facing inwards? I haven't seen that before...Also, not sure about the wiring on top of the fender. Your seat doesn't sit on the fender? Or do you have rubber blocks providing a gap? What about if you change seats? May create an issue. May have been better to route those wires inside the fender along the side. Anyways, these are just a few thoughts that come to mind. Post up more pics of the bags mounted on the bike from a little ways away so we can see the whole assembled project.

Yes i have a mustang seat and it has rubber spacers under it which provides space under it. Went for a ride today it was 60 here and got some compliments already on the sound. Did anybody else get to ride today?

I need a small amp on the rear speakers to make it work.
