If you really want hassle free and do not want to have to visit a Dyno tuner should you ever change pipes or AC flow, get the Thundermax with Autotune, far superior to PC, I have run the Fuel Pak, PC II and TMax all on this bike and the TMax is by far a better tuner, and each time I made a change, it adjusted for it.
The difference is real world, not anecdotal. With the PC my aboslute best 0-60 time was 4.6, with the TMax I can easily run 4.2. My Dakota has that function built in, another fun toy.

I just ordered a set of Rineharts and swallowed the cost of the Thundermax. I go to a custom bike shop and not HD. They swear by it and also pointed out that if you need to change anything else on your engine in the future, (cams, pistons, ect), then the thundermax just needs to be adjusted, not replaced.

I decided to go this way becouse like you, I think I'm hanging on to this bike for a long while.

why would it need to be adjusted? I thought it was 100% auto tune

It is, but if you make a major change, such as cams then you might want to update the map.
You can however just run automap and it will make it's own adjustments.

Some good replies on this page. I had the HD download and it still ran a bit hot. I didn't buy the download it came used with the bike. I wanted a TTS for so long but with short funds and another hot riding season coming I bought the Doebeck TFI for $200 with a Vets discount.

It doesn't have all the extras like saving different maps etc but for just cooling the bike down and making it run better it's been great. I could tell a bit more pep than before in every rpm range. The TFI (at least the older model I have) is pretty simple. You can adjust it but it's all done with a screwdriver. It's not a piggyback like the PC or a remap or another ECM. It's just a little box hooked to a pair of replacement injector plugs that "override" what comes from the ECM.

Again if want to race and go the expense of dyno then what I have is not for you. Maybe the Gen 4 version of Doebeck might be haven't checked on it. But for cooler more efficient, trouble free stage 1 running the Doebeck is the most economical unit out there.

I've been doing quite a bit of research on this and I keep coming back to the TMax. It just seems to make sense and having the ability to change with any engine mods I make in the future...It is definitely on my short list.

Pipes and breather. Get it dyno tuned and then forget about it. You aren't doing any more mods and a dyno tune will get it dialed in to max power and you never have to think about it again.
Find a tuner in your area who dyno-tunes bikes. Buy what he uses or sells so he can use his equipment to re-program your bike. Then call er done. Jmo.
