Default First Performance Upgrade

This question has probably been asked a thousand times, so I apoligize.

I am planning to add SuperTrapp SE Slipons and a Big Sucker kit. I plan to do this myself. Will the EFI learn these changes or do I have to remap afterwards? If I do need to remap, will a dealership typically do this if they haven't done the upgrade.

And the bike is an '03 EG Classic with EFI. After riding it stone stock for 6 years, I've been bitten by the performance bug.

Thanks.

i would spend a little more and get a power commander...their website will list a tuning center in your area...the dealer downloads are no good...if the dealer has a dyno, you can buy a power commander or super tuner from them and let them tune your bike

Get some sort of tuner. there are numerous options available. PCIII is a good choice, as well as TTS, SERT, etc. It all comes down to how much you are willing to spend. The factory downland will still leave the bike running extremely lean and is a waste of money IMO.

If bitten by the "bug", I'd toss an Andrews 26 in it now, and then have it tuned.

Default Invest in a Fuel management system

Learn from our mistakes, don't go for the dealer remap.. you will pay 150.00 for that and may need to do it again if you make additional changes.. a fuel management system will add fuel cooling the bike off, giving better performance and allow for future upgrades ny changing the map.

Thanks for the advice guys. I'm pricing a power commander today. And I plan to perform more upgrades in the future. I've thought about gear driven cams next and hopefully a stage 2 upgrade some day. Of course when that day comes, I'll be posting for more advice!
