the only 2011 bikes TTS doesnt have tuners for is the 2011 softails. there going to be releasing tuners in mid-late march for 2012 dynas and i believe the softails too. im planning on running the TTS on my 2012 street bob. just dont want to wait that long for it....
I hear ya rooti,I did'nt know what I was missing either until we got the wifes streetbob tuned last fall.Throttle response was right there when you hit it,alot smoother ride and her bike ran cooler as well, plus gained quite abit more top end out of it.I recenty just bought my seprt and ac,just waiting on the weather now, most likey the end of april or early may before I can get my bike in.We have a very good tech at our dealer and he dialed in Deltas bike bang on,can't wait to get mine done,as you said money well spent.

I am a firm believer in getting a good tuner like TTS, and having a competent tuner dyno-tune it.
I too took my bike and the TTS to the local HD dealer. It was a complete waste of time. All he did was flash the bike with the correct starter map. After educating him on how things worked he tried again and failed to even get the bike to connect to their computer.
So I did the tuning runs myself - which helped, but not being a competent tuner/mechanic, I could only use part of the TTS's functions.
So I did my research and found Latus HD in Portland, OR. They know what they are doing. It was worth trailering my bike the 3.5 hours one way to get it done right the first time.
It does suck you have to spend that kinda cash to get it to run the way it was meant to run in the first place. I figure the better it runs, the longer it will last. Between that and the fun factor it is money well spent.
So i am going to start this with a statement direct from the current American Iron Magazine March 2012 pg 36-38 "you do not need the H-D download or a tuning device. The stock ECM and O2 sensors will readjust the air fuel mixture to compensate for the new air cleaner". Chris goes on further to say "that except for a few high performance systems like the Bassani 2-into-1 and the V&H race ready, we have not needed a tuner for any slip-ons or complete systems." Now Chris did say that the way to combat this is to run the bike through some on and off's of the ignition between each step of the install.
So from what he. Is saying is a race tuner really necessary if I am going with Vance and Hines slip-on with the stage 1 air cleaner?
I have the V&H Slip-On and a Big Sucker Air Kit. The HD service manager said I didn’t need a Dyno until I added the Air Kit. I wanted to change my AC cover to a smaller one I had on my other bikes. So I had to do the air kit.

Necessary, NO
Beneficial, ABSOLUTELY!
Is peace of mind (motor longevity), smoothness, better cooling, and performance worth it to you?
You can work around it, but you are not getting the most out of your mods
BTW, OP those are some pretty good numbers. TTS is definitely on my ever growing list of mods!
You don't have to have the bike tuned..but even if you do no mods at all it is still running lean from the factory thanks to the EPA. My bike was just too hot in the summer. For me, it wasn't about squeezing every last horsepower out of my bike. It was about getting it run to the best of it's ability. By tuning I got both. The smoothness of the motor is worth every penny I spent and the power is just a added bonus.
