I think there are two questions here.

Can a 200 fit on the stock 4.5" rim. Yes.

Is running a 200 on a stock 4.5" rim safe. No, but neither is riding without a helmet. If you want to risk it for the look, then go for it.

Just installed a MICHELIN COMMANDER2 200/55R-17 M/C 78V on the rear. I love it. Using the stock rim and no mods on rear end. It seems like the bike is easier to lean and smoother ride. Cycle Gear installed it for me and said there was no issues getting the tire on the rim. Fits great

Hey guys. I'm aware the 200 WILL work and I will be upgrading to an 18" x 5.5 wheel, but my question is for those who are running the 200's how much of a handling difference did you notice if any? I have heard mixed reviews about harder lean in etc

Lot of room around tire is not much wider than stock. Put 6k on that tire and still some thread left. I could't get more than 3.5 from stock dunlops.

I am sure that you 200 tyre is more like 185 if you measure it.. because when you put a 200 5.5inch tyre on a 4.5 rim you will bend it out of shape..

It can be done forsure..

if risking your bike going down is worth saving ~$400 on a new 5.5" wheel, go for it!
