Hi,
I 'm confused about changing the handle grips on my '11 Street Bob.
I 've come across a set of chrome grips (cfr pic)
All the manuals and instruction videos I find talk about taking off the controls and re-placing the (throttle) wires, but these grips don't have the necessary cut-outs for the cables...
Do they come on the originals .. or will they simply don't work...
I 'm a bit at lost.
not quite sure, its been a long time since i've seen the stock grips, but i would think they are molded onto the oem grips... my 2 cents, i would go with with a grip that already has the sleeves installed or thats a 1 piece setup, i would hate for a grip sleeve to come loose from the grip while riding or away from home... but i can be paranoid sometimes.
Speaking of grips, Pontiac, why does it look like you lost your left grip in your sig picture?
To the OP, the other thing to keep in mind about grips like that is how often you ride. Generally speaking, the harder the grip, the more vibration is transfered to your hand. You may find those grips uncomfortable for long trips. Just a thought. Either way, you do need a throttle sleeve and I'm surprised whoever sold you those didn't mention it.
Robo my signature pic has no left grip because i couldnt get it off my old bars. Since the ISO grips are glued on. Took alot of time and alot of WD40 but i finally got it off and installed it. Havent had time to take a new pic for the signature.
