If you paid with paypal you should file a claim. It's total BS what they did, but the real problem is that they aren't handling the situation the way a good company would. I'm sure at the very least if they were just polite and apologetic you would be willing to let it go and chalk it up to a mistake.
The fact that the guy is being an ******* AND selling Chinese crap AND representing it as American made is bullshit period.
I don't think anyone here believes Harley's are 100% American made, nor are they advertised as such. If that's the conception, good for the MoCo. The OP asked a legitamit question and was lied too. That is the issue. Do I try to buy American when I can? Sure, when there is a comparable affordable product. Is everything in my household American made? Absolutely not.

EXACTLY! Thank you. BTW, they have them listed on Ebay, which is where I asked the question about them being American made. Then I called them to ask what length I would need for the bars I am installing and ordered them over the phone.
Dude. I can understand you beeing pissed for them lying.. Ok no problem. But, Your main Bitch (and reason you were lyed to) was that it wasn't made in America. It's not worth throwing a temper tantrum over... I want it this way. B.S.
As far as Merchandise We are one World. It doesn't matter where it is made, nor should it. If it really matters to you then you might as well toss out your tv. or your cell phone or the personal computer that you are pounding on. Nuff said.
As far as the personal attack on what kind of American I am. I'm not even gonna gratify that remark with a coment. I just hope you think alot more before you speak to a mans face.

The issue isn't USA or not (BTW being made in any country in North/South America is American in my eyes - right, let not be too arrogant).
The issue is OP asked and was told what he wanted to hear and the product didn't match the description. Now if there was intent on the sellers rep - probably not. They just thought they were or were just ignorant. Course that isn't an excuse. They should know before answering or answer - "not sure..."
If you really want USA made, you should be allow to return them since they didn't match the description.
As far as buying just USA made and calling people that don't sweat it names, political membership and the like - well that's a bit over the top don't you think?
The global economy is very complex and simply going nationalist on manufacturing has never proven a solution to protect a country's economy - just saying what examples history has provided.

One world, hmmmm, where have I heard that before? What was his name? Adolf, uh, Adolf, uh, somone help me here.
As far as saying that I should just not worry about it is much worse than me demanding what I want with my American dollar. Telling me to just take it is saying, you don't need a choice, so just take what they sent you and get over it. Hmmm....I should just take it....So someone sells you a Honda with Harley badges on it and we call it good?
I do have a choice, as does anyone else. I choose to buy a big Samsung tv. I choose to have vintage Japanese audio gear. If I didn't have a choice, I could send you my money and let you tell me that this chinese wrench is just as good as this Craftsman wrench and I should just take your word for it.
Is getting political going over the top? It depends on how serious you are about doing the right thing.
Every day, month, year we accept a little more and just take it. When is enough going to be enough? Americans constantly shoot ourselves in the back all the time. When did we all start thinking a Toyota is the only good car? When did we accept "customer service" all being located in India? When did we just accept rude behavior just to be done with the situation? While you are acting like I am overreacting and apologizing for being born in on American soil, I'll be over here trying to make people accountable.
BTW, if this sounds harsh, it's only directed to the 2 that pushed back on me like I should just deal with it.
