New Fork Brace
I drew this up last week, had a buddy draw it in CAD, and then it was cut from a laser machine at my uncle's metal fab shop. 12 gauge cold rolled steel and the bend was done from a bending machine at the shop. This will hold up to flex as well if not better than a standard fender while looking a hell of a lot better. I am powder coating it now and it should be done in a few days. I will make sure to post pics once completed. I am also drawing up a second brace for a 21" rim/tire since I just picked one up a few days ago. After bike week, I will be throwing on the new rims and this brace ( made for a 19" wheel) will be for sale.
I have designed and fabbed quite a few parts this year including fork braces, side mount plates that fit over shocks, struts and handle bars. I am finding that I love designing and fabricating parts so much that I am considering doing it as a second job. Would anyone on the forum have interest for a product like this if I were to have more made? I am thinking of designing these fork braces for 00' and up narrow and wide glides.
Thanks for all of the comments!
