Default 2012 parts availability??

Well I just purchased my first ever Harley and went with the 2012 Street Bob. After looking around for some parts on JPCycles.com, I see that the parts are currently only for up to 2011 models. Do you guys know when parts will start rolling out for the newer models?

Hoping to do V&H exhaust, 16" Apes, and the cable kit for the new steering setup. Thank You!

nothing really changed as far as i know, just most stuff hasn't been updated on those sites yet.

pipes, bars and cables... none of that should have any problem on a 12

check directharleyparts.com
Have been great for my 2012 mods...to include many of the above mods you're interested in.
Great pricing and great customer service...and NO, I'm not employed by and/or affiliated by them. Simply a great organization.
Hope that helps

Congrats on the bike...I also have a '12 Street Bob. As far as parts for the 2012 go, somethings are different but most are the same. The most notable difference is the O2 sensors in the exhaust. They were changed to a smaller size for the '12 models so anything listed for a 2011 won't fit unless you use adapters. The other thing that changed is the ECU so you can not use tuners labeled for 2011 models.

As far as bars, cables, etc, they are all the same.

Good luck with her!

I also have a 2012. Most of the mechanical parts are the same. The electrical is hdlan so there are a few differences. Like the ignition relocation mod you'll find on this forum. This won't be the same on our bikes. But as a plus using led turns wont require load balancers for us

Thanks for the quick replies everybody! So would it be safe to say I can order the Apes and extended cable kit then?

Here are the apes I am thinking of goin' with. http://www.jpcycles.com/product/502-196 I am 6'5" (tall torso, 36" inseam) and figured an extra inch might not hurt. If you could take a look and assure me these will fit my bike, I would greatly appreciate it.

So besides the bars and cable/wiring extensions, is there anything else I am missing out on? Should the wiring extension work for the 2012 model if it says 2011 model fitment?

Thanks again for the replies. I can't wait to start turning wrenches again.

Looks like those bars are good to go. They are 1" diameter for the risers which works out since you can't change the risers on the bob without changing the top triple tree.

As far as the wiring goes, I'm not too sure to be honest. I would suggest getting the service manual, look at the wiring diagrams for your bike and comparing them to the wiring kits that are offered to make sure they match.

If your bob is anything like my Superglide ('12) you will not need electrical extensions. I went with 16's and the wires ran internally had more than enough room. Could have probably gone with 18's with a 4 inch rise and still been good.

I didn't check your link but do NOT buy a burly kit. The cables are trash. I went with HD cables and they're great. Best of luck.

+1 on the exhaust info. I was a guinea pig for that. Lol
