anyone else have problems with Ghost brackets?
Well i have been fighting my ghost brackets for a couple days.
Yes i did shim them to make sure that they are lined up correctly.
problem #1, the powder coating ( or the material it was made of) on one of the sliders was to thick for it to slide onto the docking hardware, but after sanding down some of the PC i got it to fit on one of the docking buttons, and then working the button in and out of it, the PC finally just wore mostly off and now it will slide like the rest of them.
problem #2, It appears that the slots in the brackets that the sliders slide back and forth in are about a 1/4 inch to short, as when the sliders are at their widest points they are not quite wide enough to slip onto the docking hardware.
problems 1 and 2 were only on the left hand bracket. On the right hand bracket it has something similar to problem 2 but sometimes it will slip on part way and then with a little push go on all the way. Getting it off is almost impossible. I had to take the back off the bracket and loosen the sliders for it to wiggle back and forth and work its way off.
I have contacted CAO the company that makes ghost brackets and they say that they will fix what ever is wrong. I will let you guys know what the deal is. But has anyone else had issues like this with these?

As it turns out the backing plate was 1/8 of an inch to short to work properly.
this is due to the slots that the sliders ride in being to short. if they were a bit longer they would be fine.
Sounds to me like a worn stamping die.
They are sending me some 12 inch brackets to put on in place of the 10 and 3/8 inch long brackets. Which can be adjusted down to the correct 10.5 inch mounting length.

I hope they take care of you. I am very displeased with Edge/Ghost Brackets. In less than six months mine cracked and now they rattle like a biotch. I wanted Easy Brackets but since I grew up in Deerfield Illinois, the headquarters of Ghost Brackets I gave them a try. Big mistake I won't make again. Best of luck with them getting you squared away.
