Anybody replace there in tank fuel line instead of replacing the whole assembly? I have three locations that have contacted the inside of the tank and have worn down the outside of the tubing, and one has a pin hole.
I think the fix would be to use Gates SAE 30R10 Submersible Fuel Line, using a shorter length so that it doesn't hit the tank walls, and / or putting tie wraps on those contact points. Harley only sells the one line from the tank quick disconnect to the regulator/filter, the other line requires you to buy the fuel pump.

hey guys... ok so i am stumped... the bike is not throwing any codes... bike runs great, then when i nail it full throttle it chugs, like it is not getting enough fuel... so i checked the plugs tight, checked the injectors, all good... no codes...
so i think i have it broke down to 1 of 3 options, Cam position sensor, speed sensor, or throttle position sensor... i am leaning a bit more towards the speed sensor as at low speeds or light throttle the bike runs great, it is only when i open her up to let her rip that she starts to chug on me... so before i go in and replace all the sensors i figured i would reach out and ask if anyone has had any issues like this before or any suggestions. thanks!
I had a missing problem that took awhile to find bike was fine while idling but while moving would miss it turned out to be a broken wire going to map sensor good luck
my truck was acting similar. i checked fuel lines, replaced fuel pump, nothing... then i decided fuel was good, on to spark. ended up replacing the coil, was heating up at high rpms and shutting down. but this should throw a code... i wonder if there is a test procedure in the shop manual? just a thought. good luck joe
did not get to play with it much yesterday... had a guy call and hewanted to buy one of my bikes so i spent the day cleaning it... but hte bob is now on the lift ill get back with some reports
I did not read the entire thread, so excuse me please if this has been covered. First place I'd check is for intake leaks and exhaust leaks. Either of those could cause your symptoms. On my wife's sportster - it did the exact same thing intermittently since purchased new. After ruling out all the obvious things, I finally figured out that it was the Crank Position Sensor. It acted up most often when the bike was fairly hot. replace the sensor, ran it several months with no issues. Put old sensor back in, and problems reappeared. New sensor back in and it's been problem free for 4 years.
