Working on my 2003 lowrider. Wanted to know if anyone knew if there was a pre-assembled kit for the indicator lamp assembly available to buy or do you have to buy all the parts and assemble?
The assembly itself is comprised of the following parts (pulled from parts manual):
I don't know if they are available as an assembly but, they are easy enough to disassemble and replace the broken parts. Do you really need the whole thing? The whole thing just pops apart, once you get the trim ring off the lights push out with a little gentle force.
Well - i hadnt realized you could pop the trim ring off.. in frustration i ended up cutting all 10 wires. Im in the process of adding new handlebar top clamp (with indicator light slot on the top of it) and with the bezel/trim in place, it would not fit into the receptacle - hence the cutting. Dumb yes i know and now about 70 bucks out of pocket - just priced all parts from latus harley - comes out to $69.89 + shipping.
Anyway, good to know so the next time i have to make any changes ill know the correct way of doing it. Thanks!
Interested to hear/see what top clamp you use for this project. Do you have an image and/or p/n?
The P/N is: 56074-96
Pic isnt that great, and you'll notice that i dont have the indicator lights/bezel/trim installed at all - waiting for the parts to come in. I chose this top clamp because i didnt want to have to purchase new risers as well - im using offset mounting screws.
thats a slick looking clamp heck had i know i would have bought that one.. but if it is in fact discontinued i know the one i purchased (see above) you can get at surdyke.com for 42 bucks.
