Default Custom Exhaust on a 2008 fatbob

does anyone know where I can find some long shot fish tail exhaust fish for my 2008 fat bob? I have been looking all over, but guessing I am not looking in the right places.

Also is there anyway I can convert to a crossover exhaust? I am trying to run long shot exhaust with fish tails one pipe on each side of my bike.

Thanks for your help

There's a member on here AFMM3 who adapted an '09 Touring exhaust to his Street Bob ... has dual pipes-one on either side of the rear fender ... you could do it like he did only using fishtails instead of cigar mufflers ....

link to his video ...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8gtNApAYCoU

this post has a brief description of how he did it ...

https://www.hdforums.com/forum/9184041-post8.html

... the orientation of the motor in the Touring model bikes is canted slightly forward in relation to the Dyna models ... so, while the pipes will fit the heads, the rearward extension of the pipes will 'droop' if a Touring pipe is used on a Dyna ...

AFMM3 addressed that issue ... the other issue is that there are no brackets to 'hang' the pipe ... AFMM3 added supports on the lower rear of the fender (another 'bastardized' part, BTW) ... also he fabricated a hanger under the rear of the bike off the transmission if I am not mistaken ...

Long story short ... it is 'do-able' ... but, takes a lot of one-off custom work ....

* * *

FWIW ... I was thinking I'd like dual exhausts (one on either side) ... but, decided in favor of a 2-into-1 in a classic style ... I may still end up getting a longer pipe with a fishtail ....

Not with a pipe on each side they won't. As SURFOR Chop above stated, I had to make mine. Lots of nice stuff out there with 2 pipes on one side though.

On another thread about true duals for Switchbacks, there was a vendor and forum sponsor, I believe it was MGS Custom, who indicated they are developing a true dual setup for Dynas ... based on some brainstorming we were doing on the thread ...

Take a look at this link to page 9 ... if you look through the whole thread you'll see the post by MGS and some contact info, etc. ...

https://www.hdforums.com/forum/dyna-...k-duals-9.html

... below is a post from page 8 with some photos of the Vance and Hines true dual system for the FLD Switchback model ... will NOT work with the Fat Bob because the mufflers are suspended from the bottom of the saddlebags similar to the touring models ....
