I’ve had a 07 Street Bob & a 09 Night Train both great bikes. Same size motor, SB Rubber Mounted and the NT counter balanced. Both were six speeds. NT was more comfortable. From what you said the NT would be closer to your list IMO. Night Train with 09 Softail Custom Handlebars and Risers.

If you want to build a Street-drag the best canvas is the FXDX without F.I.
I've got a 2000 FXDX that I bought to turn into a monster and she screams the 1/4 mile at 9 seconds flat. You can't do that with the "b" engine.
I've always loved the Night Train but softails just don't feel right to me as far as riding position goes. My solution? Wide glide. I haven't started the transformation just yet but the goal for this bike is basically to build a wide glide night train. Anyway, if you want the look of the night train but the performance of a dyna, I say wide glide all the way.

TOTALLY AGREE!! When I was reading your riding habits they are extremely similar to mine. I absolutely LOVE my WG. I would definitely suggest you checking one out if you already haven't.
If you want mini-apes & also have back problems, the NT may not be for you unless you change out the bars.
Sounds like a Street Bob might fit your needs/wants better.
Wow, lots of great input. Sounds like I can't go wrong either way. Those of you that say 'wideglide'....why?
Street Bob may be it, though I love the look of the Night Train. I live in Florida, no hills or corners, so comfort is a premium. The mini-apes will be for arm position, low bars make my hands fall asleep!
I'm just jacked about getting a Harley again, had to sell the last one to pay the lawyer for the divorce.....argh!
