Touring seat is about the same thing, just an inch narrower front and rear. Pretty comfy and good value at just a little over $200
So...the sundowner seat & the touring seat are pretty much the same except the touring seat is about an inch narrower?
I love the looks of the stock seat on my FXDC, but have been thinking about comfort for longer rides w/the wife this summer. Have been considering one of these two, but not sure yet..
I bought a Sundowner and found it raised me up about an inch, from the stock Super Glide solo seat. After a ride around the block, I took it back and exchanged it for a Touring seat. The Touring seat felt the same as the Sundowner, but kept the same position as the stock solo seat. It was very comfortable, on a 2300 mile weekend.

Seems to be, never had the SD but everything I have seen of them it looks like a smaller version. Wife hated the stocker, made me pull over less than a mile from home her first time out, and one other time we were 20 miles from home and she said leave me here and go get the Jeep cause it hurts down there........new seat and backrest fixed all that.
Put a Sun Downer on my '08 FXDC the day I got it and LOVE IT. Have 30k on it now and never get sore on it. Rode 4,260 miles in two weeks two years ago and was ready for another 5K! You should also consider H-Ds QD windshield. Love mine and never have it off except to wash the bike or clean the shield.
I also added Road King air shocks to it last year and they have made a big difference in the ride. You need to get '09 or later air shocks as they will take 60psi where pre '09 only go up to 30psi.

Check the instructions - its only 50psi and some of the older ones can go that high also.
My sundowner is awesome. The wife loves it. The stock seat although comfy when you first get on it was a pain after a short while.
I did get a LePara Silhouette solo and will be trying it out soon but that's another story.
the sundowner 2 up seats are not the best looking but they are priced right and very comfy. I believe the front is 16" wide and the rear is 12". The piggyback reservoir on the progressive 970's can be turned towards the front or back, you will love the ride
