I was thinking about wrapping my.headers with white or black heat wrap any pros or cons for this i jere can help with lil bit of exra torque bit im only doing it for looks
I have the black on mine. When I bought the bike the PO had put white on it and it looked like crap. Stock pipes on mine so if I have any problems, no big deal.
Cons: heat held in by wrap can crack your exhaust.
Agree completely. Use to do some web work for a guy that manufactured headers and built custom race headers for folks including some NHRA teams. Told me that when you wrap the pipes you're holding in all that heat in the metal (as opposed to "coated" pipes which will coat the inside and outside of the metal to keep the heat away from you and the pipes). When you do this, you basically bake all the carbon out of the steel and the pipes will eventually become brittle and break.
As with anything else though, some people have good luck with wraps and have no problems and others have busted pipes in six months.

Wrapped mine looked great. Pipe broke within a year.
