I dont understand how it can have no limititations if it cant adjust spark/timing tables?
+1 It really cant have no limits without access to the spark/timing tables.
Its marketed under though notion that you are then free to mod your engine as you wish but without spark/timing adjustment thats just simple marketing BS.
Well, if it will work for my current setup, I'll be happy. When I decide to do motor work and if this unit doesn't live up to what was advertised, Ill upgrade.
I'm getting one just cause of the customer service!
Sounds like their customer service is top notch. But I wouldn't base my purchase off just that. My other option was the fuel moto power Vision and I've heard their customer service is top notch as well.
Just depends on what you want and what your future plans are.
Anyone wanting to talk direct to Cobra about this unit, there is a "webinar" going on in a few days if you want to take part in it and ask all the questions you want/need. Here's the link:
Just put one on my '05 Dyna. No o2 sensors, running a Doherty power pacc breather & straight 1&3/4 drags.... Seems to be up to par. Haven't got to hit the highway yet but soon as I do I'm going to check the plugs to see how they look.... Still nervous as hell about it. It's been my only transportation for 2 years haha! Got along ways to ride this year & not through with my shovel yet.. Can't afford a **** up
Went on a 200 mile ride today and felt a hesitation at speeds between 75-80mph. This seems to be the only problem I am having with this unit. Other than the hesitation, the bike ran flawlessly and feels great.
I contacted Cobra when I got home and I can't say enough about how helpful they were. The gentleman I spoke with over the phone was very nice and seemed very focused on solving this problem. I told him about the hesitation and he suggested the same thing that was suggested to another forum member, disconnect the O2 sensors from the Powerpro unit and connect them back to bike.
I am going to go ahead with that and see if that eliminates the problem. The person on the phone said that he would have another tech contact me via phone to see how my test went.
Also, I averaged 40 mpg during my ride with this unit.
I still have that hesitation too...seems like when you let off then roll on the throttle. Mine sounds like a carbed bike before it's warmed up when I do that.
It seems that if the RPMs are up, it will respond ok, but if you are lugging it a little is takes some "effort" to bring it up to speed.
I just got the right download for my injector change yesterday and the bike is much better, but still nowhere near perfect.
Why do they want u to disconnect the O2 sensor? What info will it read then?
Why do they want u to disconnect the O2 sensor? What info will it read then?
I'm not exactly sure what the unit will read but I think they are telling me to do that so they can pin point the location of the problem.
I took the bike out tonight with the O2 sensors disconnected and absolutely no hesitation to speak of anymore. When I report back to Cobra, Ill post up what they say.
