Cool 2011 Dyna tire wear

On a Poker Run last week, I was talking to an owner of another 2011 Dyna FXDWG. He and I have the same front tire wear (Dunlop). 4100mi on mine and 6500mi on his. I noticed the 2012's have changed to Michelins...what up? Anyone got answers, Should the dealer replace as a warranty item?

you didn't note how much wear. Doesn't sound like there is anything to warranty, not likely that a tire manufacturer is going to give you a new tire because you think it wore out too soon.

Tires are wear items, not covered by warranty. Mfg switch component suppliers all the time for various reasons. Maybe the purchasing agent has a family member working for Michelin now.

A buddy and I run the scorcher 31's on our 2010... I'll get a solid 12,000mi and he'll get 8,000. Our riding styles are the same... I guess all bikes are different.

I would be interested on that as well, I was just thinking that last week cleaning up the bike noticing that the front tire seems to be wearing much faster than the rear with barely 3k on it.

My front Dunlop had puckering issues. Service writer said he'd seen more than a few with the problem. Could be part of the reason they switched to Michelin.

Dump the Dunflops ASAP. You'll be amazed how much better your bike handles with real tires.

I have the Michelin Scorcher 31s that came on my new FXDC, and I'm real happy with the ride and handling. New bike so only 700+ miles so far so I can't speak about wear issues yet. I got around 10,000 out of Dunlops on my Sporty. The Michelins feel much better to me.

I got 11K out of my rear Dunlop and about 22K out of my front. Switched to Night Dragons and we'll see how they do. Not many stock sized choices for the 2010+ FXDWGs.
