Default electrical system light

I have a 2012 FXDC with about 700 miles on it.
I made several short trips on the bike yesterday & one time yesterday afternoon I started it up and the red dot light on right side of the speedo stayed on longer than normal..I would say for about 5 seconds after the bike was running. I gave it a little throttle & it went out. It's NOT the battery light, but the light for the electrical system. Is this anything to be concerned about? Read the manual & it said to check all the light & it will come on when a bulb is burned out. I did & nothing, but like I said it went off after about 5 seconds. I started it several times after that & it didn't do it...one time thing.

Red face Bike is just getting used to being a bike?

I don't know. Keep your eye on it and if it never happens again, forget it. Otherwise, see the dealer for warranty service.

And enjoy the new ride!

Happened again this morning...turned on ignition & started the bike & everything was normal, then after the bike was running for about 5 seconds it came back on for about 10 seconds then went off again. Gonna call the dealer today to set up 1,000 mile service & dyno tune anyway, so I'll see if it's something to be concerned about.

From reading the manual, looks like this could only be one of two things....security system or a loose bulb. I don't have the security system, so I guess I will check all of my bulbs. They all work, but one must be slightly loose occasionally. I have the smoke signal lens kit with yellow bulbs & an LED tail light bulb with clear lens. I put these on myself & used dielectric grease, but maybe I didn't get one in just right?

good point, Why bother with it, its the dealers fault for now, stick it to them while you still can.

It's not the charge light indicator (the battery light), it's the electrical system light, which is a small red dot indicator light on the right side of the speedo.

Talked to the dealer & they said it's likely a bulb that is not completely tight in the socket & not to worry about it but they are going to look at it when I take it in for the 1,000 miles service/dyno tune on April 6th.
