piece of cake. just open the switch housing and disconnect it from the grip. then just grab the bottom of the housing, after you put the screws back in and just pull/wiggle the 90 degree bend part down and out of the switch housing. after that just followthe cable to the carb and remove. real easy at the carb/throttle body if you have an open air cleaner like a big sucker. this way you can get the cable off without removing the air cleaner.

Better be careful . Your front and rear brakes could fail along with your killswitch at the same time your throttle could stick in the wide open position. Dont say I didnt warn you.

not sure on a cv , but on a S&S carb I also had to put a spacer under the cable casing bracket on the carb to take out some slop. without the idle cable , the throttle is allowed to go completely to its stop. seems the idle cable stops it a bit before the grip hits the stop in the switch housing.
you are correct , imo they r not needed and serve no purpose. somebody wrecked , blamed it on a sticking throttle because they panicked and didn't let off the gas/didn't know there was a thing called kill switch/brake or clutch lever so big brother stepped in to help us all out with a new law

No carb here, so I'm assuming no spacer to worry about, but I'll keep it in mind when I dig in lol
