Default Basic tool kit for the Dyna fxd

Hi folks, I just bought a 2000 dyna fxd and I need to do the basic maintenance, inspection cover removal, oil and transmission lub change. Can you recommend a tool kit that could do this, I have tools but it's not what I need for a Harley.
Hope you can help, Thanks, Bill

First of all, welcome to the forum.

Second, try doing a search under the forum ("Search this Forum" tab, upper right corner). There have been many great discussions as what types of tool kits and basic tools. Good luck.

If you plan to change your own brake pads, fork oil, etc... you'll want to consider getting a motorcycle lift. As you've already found out, the search tool will usually yield many relevant threads. Good luck and welcome.

The best tool you can buy is the factory service manual for your model and your year. You will need it if you do anything more than basic maintenance.
Look on Ebay or Amazon, or order one from your dealer.
