There have been some excellent write-ups with pictures on how to relocate the Street Bob ignition switch to the tank panel so it is similar to the Road King in functionality.
There have also been some write-ups on the filing of the barrel key so that it can be used to turn on the ignition and then pulled out while it is in the 'on' position.
I believe I read one situation where someone used a filed-off barrel key to turn their ignition to the 'on' position and then had hooked up a toggle switch to turn on and off the ignition so that they would no longer need to use their key unless and until they wanted to lock the steering. They could walk away from the bike knowing that even if someone flipped the toggle switch and pressed the starter button, nothing would happen as the alarm would have disengaged the starter capability. That, in effect, is no different from someone who walks away from their Touring bike without locking the forks.
This is the reason for this post.
I cannot find detailed instructions on how to hook up a toggle switch so that I can leave the ignition turned on and control the on /off of the ignition with a toggle switch. Is there one wire that can be cut and each end attached to a toggle switch? Is it that simple?
