After you get them apart some Molex's have two side slots to pry out the locking plate with a small flat screwdriver. Others have two center located small square holes. I grab those kind with needle nose pliers and pull outward. It will snap up bout a 1/4" to 3/8"

BEFORE removing the wires and socket pins WRITE DOWN the wire colors and pin locations on some paper and don't loose it.

To remove the AMP pins I've had better luck with a Bobby pin. I filed it flat a bit on the end. I bend it in a 90* angle so I can grip it and twist it when I feel it grab the tab inside the connector. On the AMPs push the Bobby pin into the inside row of holes (not the outside those are the socket holes). It should go in bout a 1/4" of more and keep it snug towards the pin side until you feel it hit the tab. Then twist the bobby pin. It takes few tries. Mudd has an excellent video on Youtube on these.

The Molex pins I have better luck with them using a heavy paper clip bent the same way. Other wise the procedure is very similar.

How do I get to these connectors? I might be trying to bite off more then I can chew. I know the wires route throw the actual frame correct? I got under the tank today and took off the "fuse box" I just can't really route or figure out which plugs or wires I need to be messing with. Can anyone help with this?

What year is your bike? They changed in 06, if newer, there is a plastic cover on the frame near the "gooseneck" remove that and you will find the connectors, just pull them out of the frame, the wires are folded back in there.
Trace the wires that go to the handlebars.

8541hog has you covered. Your 07 is quite a bit easier than the older models from what I've heard. 8541hog says he don't have too much trouble with the older scenario but some other stories I've heard it sounds akin to trying to pull big Anaconda with a kink in his tail through PVC pipe.

The hardest thing on your model (which is the same as mine) is getting all those wires and connectors back up in the neck compartment enough to get the plastic tab back on. Everytime I've done it I would have to just keep trying different ways to fold and place the different connectors until I finally got them all to fit back in there. There ain't much room in there and it's kinda like stuffing a Octupus in a small ice chest.

Some of the Touring models have all the harness in a plactic conduit on top of the frame (not in it) which sounds great to me. Anyhow sounds like you are on your way with though.

I made a video back when I did it.

Nice footage, Dave!

I've added this video to my catalog:

Hey guy, I guess you are talking about the sweat rag I had on my head. It was hot back when I made that video and the sweat starting dripping on my glasses and blurring my vision. The rag stops all that.

Thanks for everyone's help! I got the bars all wired up and I want to say it only took about a hour and a half.

Just want to add for ppl doing this in the future. I have a 07 Streetbob. There is a plastic piece under the frame where the wiring harnises are. You take it out and are the harnises are right there.
