I always make sure it clicks when i tighten the cap. So where is the charcoal canister? i checked to see if the vent tube was clogged last night and it wasn't. I've been wanting a new gas cap anyway so hopefully that's all it is. thank you all!
I went to fill up my tank the other day and when I unscrewed the gas cap and huge wooshing sound occurred. Didn't think much about it. Then about a week later, after another fill up, I was riding at 60 mph and my bike died. The engine shut off, still had lights/turn signals. coasted to the side of the road and it started right back up. Could the two be related?
I'm going to check my battery cables tonight to see if they're tight, but I'm wondering what else it could be. I don't want to be stranded somewhere...Thanks.
LOL. No they said they need it for a few days to runs tests. That's going to be tough cause the weather is perfect right now, but I'll probably drop it off tomorrow. I'll update when and if they figure it out. thanks
This is true for '09 and earlier models. But for '10 models and later, the other 49 has caught up. There are now 50 state models, not the 49 state and California model. Welcome to the Catalytic Converter models.
Ultra89rider he was talking about the charcoal canister, are you positive all 2010 and newer bikes have one? I don't remember seeing any on any bikes around here.

I just know that there is not a California and a 49 State Model starting with the 2010 model year. All are 50 State models. So if one has it, all have. If others don't, all don't.
