Default SB version 2 back on the road

I spent all day thrashing in the garage to get this thing runnig. I had plans with the wife but she let me slide so I could get it done. She even asked if she could do anything when she saw me struggling to get the fork caps on. I got a good woman.

It isn't done but I got it ridable. Here's the run down of the changes:
- Works triple rate fork springs
- Works 12.6" steel tracker shocks
- 10" Wild One T-bars (I bought them under the impression they were WC Tbars)
- Coil and Horn relocation from DK Customs
- Highway pegs
- New lowers (I shaved my stock ones)
- Front fender
- Carlisle Designs air cleaner
- custom 2 into 1 pipe built by Stevo-II (forum member)
- Mirrors from BK rider
- Joe from Powder Pro coated the lowers and highway peg mounts

The heat shields are just painted with hi-temp apray paint but I'm having them powered. I got a FXD fender that I had shaved but the paint looked like garbage when I went to pick it up so it's getting re-sprayed. I'm adding a HD 1/4 faring also. I think the bars look weird without a fairing. I also have a custom derby and points cover I'm waiting on.

I rode it around the block. I can say it's nice to be able to ride out of my driveway without scraping. I haven't set the sag on the shocks so I can't give a good opinion on the improvement, but the bike feels much better. The bars will take some getting used to and I'm not sold on them. I may be changing out to a set of riser and pro-tapers.

If you call works they may build them for you in that length.

What I can say after 60 miles is that the bike doesn't beat me up anymore and it feels really solid going through fast sweepers. The bike is much easier to turn now but I think a lot of that is leverage with the new bars. I'm not a fan of how they look but the bike rides great. I'm going to change the bars to a moto style bar and 8-9" risers next week. I can feel the suspension working. I'm going to mess with the spacers in the front end and firm them up some. I'm running 10wt Amsoil shock fluid. I think I'm going to add ricor intimidators too.

I believe the Ricor Intiminators and Race Tech Gold Valve cartridge emulator do the same thing ... that is, modulate the "open bath" operation of the stock fork tubes ... should be great since you're half way there with the new springs ... I don't think you need heavier weight fork oil ...

Bars are not my style ... but, your bike looks great .... and I'm sure you're pumped to be back in the wind ...

Enjoy ...
