Hey man!

Yea FXD2003Rider, awesome resource. I followed the wiring info he had (all under the seat) to tap into etc... (I'll be honest I have my gauges powered and lit up, but not all are working yet)... But I made a full wire lomb, and wires are ran, just have to hook up... soon...

As for TUNES!
I went with a sony, and 50x4, what I did is use the Boom audio fairing speakers.
They are set up to connect the tweeter to the "sub" and use one set of leads. BUT what I did was split the signal, and wired my tweeters as "front" speakers and the subs as "rears"...
I made sure I got a stereo that I could tune front and rear separate and set them up so Im not pushing bass thru the tweeter and visa versa...
To mount the stereo in the HD cradle, I got the biketronics install ket.
Was 45 bux, came with a mount face plate, and the side spacers. and also the antenna lead. Its the easiest way to go.
At 80ish I can hear my tunes no prob!
50-60ish cruising I'm loving life with crankin tunes!

I also use some sound insulation on the inside of my fairing to create a "speaker box" effect. I tried it with the insulation and with out and there IS a huge difference for sure! without the speakers sounded cracky... now they are pounding!

My only wish.
If I had a full touring controls set up with volume on my bars, or a radio that compensated road speed/volume. My issue is when with my wife or friends and we stop at a light or what ever, my stereo is fuken LOUUUD! I have to reach to turn it down to talk, then reach again to turn up as we drive off.

Ill figure it out at some point, however weather has been awesome so Im riding rather than wrenching!

EDIT!:
If your still in the market for a radio, check out the Alpine head units that are equipt to hook up with the new alpine power pack, go to a best buy or whatever and talk with them.
I realized after the fact, It might have been a better set up and better bang for the buck... maybe this winter Ill swap...

Talked to two guys today who both are running the Sony and love it. I also went back and checked my headlight wiring seems I mistakenly combined the bright and dim leads (stupid!). Anyway problem solved. I also picked up a pair of 2" LED lights that will mount on either side of the license plate for turn signals.

Ha ha I said when the FXDF came out that the roadglide fairing would work with the dual light setup.

Not a fan of the stationary fairing persay. I had one on an old yamaha. Never could get used to the headlight pointing forward when making left/right turns. You just can't see what is in your way sometimes.

Congrats on making it work, though. Many happy miles...

Nope no tunes yet, next thing from the budget is a complete set of 6 King shocks for our off road rail project which is over $3K so the tunes are on the back burner. The bags also come before them as well. I did try to do the wiring following the post here using the 70264-94A pluging it to appropriate connector under the seat however for some reason my plugs are different so onto a plan B where I will need to disassemble down to the circuit panel to find an useable switched accessory circuit to tap a scondary fuse into.
There are two open plugs in the back bone but once again no none seems to know what they are or knows what plugs fit them.
Next issue is the audio mount is still rubbing on the underside of the inside of the fairing despite me grinding off about .125". I am wondering if I need to remove the original Cyclevision outer mount plate and only use this as the outer mount plate? What did you do?

There's nothing to see from a photo. The way the OEM audio mount is designed think of a large section of "C" channel about 6" wide. The ears pointing up normally would come close to the underside of the fairing, well mine actually touch in places. The mount has two arms welded to the underside of the "C" channel that a basically right angle sections and these have holes in them and they bolt to the bolts that hold the fairing in place. The holes are excentric allowing you to move the mount up and down so that the stereo head will fit into the opening correctly. The Cyclevision mount has a plate on the inside and the fairing is sandwiched between. This plate is .125" thick so I am thinking next time I have the outer section off I will eliminate it.
Also when I actually have the stereo head I will grind off any excess from the ears that stick up over the head unit.

HYPR to mount the fairing did you use the cyclevisions dyna mount and modify it? fabricate your own mount? I would like to do somthing like this myself, and have some fabrication skills... do you have any pictures of the mount that you used to attach the fairing to the frame?

Yes the Cyclevisions Dyna mount. If you look back at the earlier pages I described the grinding modification I made to clear the Fat Bob tank mounts, it was pretty simple.
