Thumbs up New 1.4kW Starter installed

I finally got my new 1.4kW starter installed and bike running. (Been a little slow due to some shoulder surgery.) Thumbs up to CatEye Customs for getting me the new starter in a timely manner and at a great price! A great guy to deal with if anybody needs anything... Thanks, CatEyeDallas! I also installed my VIEDs from Nightrider, H-D platinum plugs, high performance plug wires from USKoolines, and a round horn cover from my wife's Sporty. Anyway, bikes starts right up and runs great! Now I just need to get some updated pics for my sig pic.

My starter is beginning to grind when its hot so thinking of replacing it in the near future. Is it a simple install? Any special tools or need a lift? I have the manual, but if its a PIA, then will drop it off at my local guy.

I know different years can be a different process. My ‘09 was simple. No lift required. I had the tools which are all basic stuff, including hex sockets. Just had to remove battery and box, disconnect some wires, slide the old out and the new one in. And I also searched high and low for a better price on a 1.4kw. I strongly suggest the Drag Specialties 1.4kw through Dallas at CatEye Customs... great service and beat any price I could find locally or online, and it now starts better than it ever has. Any other questions, let me know.

Earlier years, yes, but not on the ‘09.
