victory hammer is 17k , but hd needs to get young buyers involved and away from the metric market

At 17K they would completely miss the mark. The BMW 1000RR carries way more technology into it and it is a 15K bike. To hit the mark, this bike should be about 14K.

I don't think that Showa BPF(big piston fork) would be capable of riding nearly as good as the original FXDX cartridge forks. They have a lot of travel and will literally float over bumps but can be adjusted (preload/compression/rebound) for mountain roads. The Showa BPF's on my XR are 3-way adjustable also but not nearly that good. They are designed more for sport bikes and i don't think HD would undertake the time and money to re-engineer them and have them made to spec by Showa. I have an modified XR1200 and also a 96HP/102TQ modified FXDX and i don't think i will be trading either of them in on this overpriced collection of parts.

The bike looks like a Dyna and that's what most dyna rear fenders look like. There's no heritage or racing history to maintain like with the XR. I doubt guys looking at the BMW 1000RR will even walk into a HD dealer. All of the $8k bikes at Japanese dealers have more technology than this bike so it's not a valid arguement to me. The guys who will buy this bike aren't trying to keep up with technology, they want a fast Harley. Every time I hear someone bring up technology and Harley's it makes me cringe. They are simple and basic. The VRod was supposed I be a huge technological break theough, but how many times have you heard a dealer say " we can't keep them on the floor"? To me you don't buy a Harley for that. I spent years riding the most cutting edge aport bikes on the market and gave all that up for my antiquated Dyna and enjoy riding it more than i ever did my 160 rwhp liter bike. Why the hell am I saying this in here anyway, it's a damn Harley forum. If you don't get it buy another brand.

I couldn't have said it better myself. This is a Harley forum and that is a DYNA hence it having a DYNA rear fender. And I've been saying for years that Harley needs to bring back the DX. Perhaps they are seeing what most people are doing to their Dynas and took the hint. I would buy this thing in a second regardless of the price. It's not a SB it has Screamin Eagle heads and who knows what other motor work and will more than likely have a 103". So at $17K it's pretty realistic I'd say. Obviously there are a few mods needed but what Harley doesn't. Give me some 14" T-Bars and a fairing and I'll be happy!!! It's a DYNA not an XR remember that people and it's an FXDX not just a regular Dyna....it's made to ride hard hence "superglide SPORT"

17k is crackpipe prices. They would have to keep it in line with the Fatbob. If it started at 15k I would definately buy it or just buy a used Superglide custom and slap on some of them parts. Clearly it would be alot cheaper

For me to pay 17k or more for it, it would have to come with the 110 or 120 motor
