Hmmm .... Let me get this straight .... the Kury 49's fit (obviously) , but the hardware supplied with them doesnt? So one needs the Kuryclamps and then get new bolts?

With the kits TOMMAY and I got, that is the case. Of course I have only seen one other kit that will allow you to mount them as close as the Kury kit, and it is at least twice as much. If I remember correctly the Kury kit was about 50 bux, and I got the bolts phor less then a quarter.

Thanks much Phreak ... just wanted to make sure I was reading correctly exactly what was needed.
The factory bullets don't quite mate up flush with the kury clamp so you'll have to use a small spacer to stand off the bullet about a sixteenth.I used the ends off some fuel line fittings cut to fit,but an oring or a metal spacer will work.
You can use the factory allen head bolt with the correct threads.Tighten the bolt down with your spacer installed then mark the head of the bolt with a felt tip, remove the bolt and grind at an angle where it's marked.I just used a file. You'll still have enough of the allen head bolt left to tighten with an allen wrench.
Yeah the bolts that come with the Kuryakyn mounts dont match the thread of the H-D turn signals. I just went to the local hardware store and bought a couple of chrome bolts that looked like the ones in the Kuryakyn kit, but were the same thread as the turn signals. I also bought 4 chrome nuts, two for each side, to use as jam nuts to keep everything secure, and if I remember correctly the bolts I bought were appx 1/2in longer that the ones Kuryakun supplied. I also cut out the excess wire from the signals and resoldered the connections and heat shrunk them. I then also covered the wires with some chrome braded wire covering that I bought at autozone. It gave it a lil better appearence in my opinion.
thanx jmbear328, appreciate it. I would also like to see a couple of closeup shots of yours before I tackle mine this weekend.
All the best for the coming New Year.
