Default Setting up my 2000 FXDX #2

OK a few more images of the 120R install in the 2000 FXDX. Fenders, fairing and exhaust on. Not sure about the fork boots yet. Still waiting on an electrical harness for the new engine. Then the tank goes on and then we are ready to fire it up. Hopefully by Friday. The air cleaner is interesting. Since it is the 51mm big bore carb only the one that comes with it works so far. My heavy breather will not fit. Getting a replaceable filter and a derby cover for it next.

I had been wondering what a Rifle Roadster fairing looks like with the bubble windshield. I have to get a replacement fairing for one that was crash damaged and i think i am going with the bubble windshield this time around. Thanks, and that baby ought to low down fly.

too cool. Awesome paint job also; especially considering how frequently skulls are done. Put some mid pegs back on and that thing could be a screaming wheelie machine be a screaming wheelie machine. I've never ridden a DX but sure looks fun.

maybe you covered it already? but what did you have to do to make the 120 work with a pre 06 bike. Aside from the ignition setup is there some difference with the transmission or oiling system? for some reason I always thought the older trans/oil pan setup wouldn't work with that motor?? I have no basis for that thought aside from maybe hearing it once when it first came out..If it's a plug and play deal that opens up alot of options for me

.

Harley makes a 120R for 02-06 Dyna/touring which is plug in play on those years. Pre 02 has the timing cam position sensor difference which I resolved by using my old timing unit of the original engine. Everything else fits fine. Yours being a 04 it should plug in play. If carb'ed you need th 51mm super bore carb verses the larger throttle body.
