Default Windshield

Has anyone tried a Laminar Lip on the FLD to eliminate the buffeting? I've used them on other bikes in the past. They list one for the Road King which looks similar to the FLD shield. $80.00 vs $250.00 to $300.00 for a replacement shield.

i'm thinking about that klock works one...i enjoy the idea that the windshield may actually shield the wind...from the flair and different shape from the stock one...i still would really like to see someone come up with a short tinted one like that can be bought for the RK

I just bought on on line, should be here in a week or two. It is a Klock Werks Flaired Billboard 18" in light tint. Found a new one on ebay for a bit less than through KW, but saved on shipping and taxes.
I'll maybe post some pics when it gets here and a quick review after I take it out on the road for a spin.
It fits the Roadking and FLD bikes.( according to Klock Werks web site).

I contacted Klock Werks about the height of their Billboard Flare windshield an dthis was their reply:

Thank you for contacting Klock Werks. We appreciate your interest in our Flare windshields. We do offer a Flare windshield for your 2012 FLD. The windshield that works with the OEM brackets is actually the same Flare windshield we offer for the Road King Models. Below I included the part numbers and some information about our Flare windshields. Our Billboard Flare that we offer now will be about an 1.5” taller than the stock shield. We are also coming out with a 16” Flare that will be available in about 4-6 weeks. Most of our try it before you buy it dealers only have windshields for the Batwing fairings. I only have a few dealers in the states with Billboard demos and unfortunately none are in your area. If you end up purchasing one directly from us we do offer a 30 day return and exchange policy if it doesn’t work for you. If you have any other questions feel free to contact me.

A little late but i got a new switchback windshield on,my 06 RKC. IT IS AWESOME! I wrecked my bike and had to get it fixed. I have thevsame problem as you. Now my eyes are just above the top edge of the windshield. And it is wider. Only thing better would be the flared billboard. Hope the new one works for you.
