Dipping my shocks tomorrow. I masked the inner tube, as shown. I'll let you know how it goes in a couple days.

Went pretty smooth. I'm pretty happy with the result. I cleaned off some overspray with with a paper towel and some WD-40, and worked pretty well.

Won't get too hot, dipped the stock chrome heat shields on my Bob and it's held up for the last 4 months.

I've been slowly dipping my bike over the past year or so. So far, I've done the two-tone on the tank, the horn cover, lower forks, inside the fairing, and most recently, yesterday I did my engine guard, which I masked off and left the knurled part where my feet rest on the bar un-dipped.

You say you've been doing them over the past year, how long has the longest part held up and which part was it?

I did my tank first, that was about 12-18 months ago now. It was originally just masked off and I did the pinstripe with pinstripe tape, but after a week or so of riding with it like that, my legs started to rub the edge line of the plastidip and roll it back some, so I did a line of pinstripe tape over the edge of the plastidip and it has held fine ever since. Nothing else has even shown any signs of wear. I did about four quick coats on each part that I've done so far.
