Default struts on a dyna

Im thinking of lowering my 2007 street bob with 10" struts. Ive used these before on an old ironhead, so I know how they ride. However I cant seem to find any pics of dynas being lowered this way. If anyone has ever tried this and could post a pic or two and tell me how it worked out Id appreciate it. Also lowering the front end by 2" with a drop in kit so the bike stays level.

They are no good on newer frames as the swing arm is attached at the transmission. It will end up screwing up the transmission housing.

I don't see how they would screw up the transmission - am I missing something?

being so low and having nothing to absorb shock (except the rubber motor mounts) your going to have to take it easy anyway... go for it

The front of the swing arm is not attached to the frame, so it doesn't pivot on the frame. It is attached to, and pivots on the transmission housing. When you replace the shocks with struts, the bump impact is no longer absorbed by the shocks. The impact is now directly transferred to the trans housing.

Some people say it's no big deal, some people say it can screw up your trans housing. I don't know myself, I've never tried it.

dont do it. back juju for your bike. just lower it. it will be rigid enough for your kindneys to feel every bump. some older dynas struts look ok. but the newer dynas are not ment to be strutted up. the swingarm is not mounted to the frame.
