Default Blacked Out Bikes

Why do so many people like the Black out Bikes, Just tired of Chrome ?????????????. I noticed that the Black parts are just as high or higher in price than the Chrome parts, I figure it cost more to chrome a part than powder coat something ??? what do you all say.

Less production with a higher demand can mean a higher price. Also, some parts may only be available in chrome which means one ends up paying more to have the chrome powder coated. Personally, I like some contrast. In other words, I don't like all chrome or all black. The type of bike also makes a difference to me. For me, I prefer my model and style of bike more on the dark side. I'm also glad that everyone else does not like the same model and style as well.

Well TNB and Big red have great looking bikes! Great contrast. I personally don't care for the all blacked out. But I also don't like all chrome either. Gotta have some middle man. Just my opinion.

Chrome was all there was for so long! seems like all anybody wanted was chrome everything. For me it got old.
I like the black... but not every single part black, just most lol.

The black out style I believe started with club'ers that wanted to have a low profile at night for reasons they only knew. Also they would have ways to kill their rear lights and even the headlight in times of need.

This may of course be urban legion

After that a style was created... Why skulls for example?

Also with factory cars the look each year was a piece of junk with more chrome than previous year's models. "Pigs in space". 56 Buick with 500 lbs of chrome hanging crooked or falling off.
Bikes were ridden and rebuilt by young guys with little money who liked to party.
No-one I knew could afford chromed out new Harleys.
My ideal is a rat bike with high miles.
That said, my bike looks a lot like many bikes on here---forums trend to the lowest common denominator. Good ideas get passed around.

Dude love you moon eyes derby cover i just had that logo on my left arm new tattoo only the old skool rodders in the UK will understand (Sorry for the thread deviation) As far as black is concerned i hate to polish.

I only like chrome when it's bling-bling-shiny-clean. We also have so much sand and dust here that chrome parts get dull in a heartbeat if you don't polish frequently.

On black this all doesn't matter. I'm a lazy dude. Black is for me.

Just enough chrome to make it all pop...that's what I like. And it translates to more riding and less washing without chrome to polish.
