The A-motor is not internally balanced... you put poly mounts on your bike, I'll bet you'll shake your teeth out.

It is also important for people doing the shimming... do the vehicle alignment procedure first, as outlined in the manual... then do the shimming. You won't have near the gap to shim out... mine was just a little under 1/8". After doing both, not only did the bike smooth out, but the *** puckering wobble in a high speed corner went away as well. I turned 40k on my scoot this summer... so it has at least 20k on the shim job. I do need to replace the motor mount tho.. I can feel the sloppiness of the bike under me.

I have read every post of all 6 pages of this problem. I to have the same problem with my wife's WG. Thanks to you all I feel i have a solution.
I can't go to 6th unless I'm running 72-75 and 5th around 65-70.
All my wife says either change gears or take me home to bed. LOL

Tried this on mine (04 fxdli) and didn't see /feel any real difference. The top hole took 4 washers but the bottom only had room for one. Should I have tried to pry things to get the same space at the lower bolt? The mount rubber seems to be in like new condition and I first did the alignment procedure of loosening front and rear mounts and idling the engine. __________________

Just thinking - what would be the result if you loosened front and rear mounts, ran engine, then tightened front mounts pulling the engine forward and last tighten the rear mounts? After shimming my front mounts my eyeballs are still dancing at cruise speeds. 2004 Fxdli and front mount looks new.

My 05 super glide does not have any vibrations but our 2010 WG does.
The mileage is almost the same. 05 is 11,800 the 2010 is 11,760
The 05 does have vibrations but I would call it normal for a V-Twin, the 2010 I would call it abnormal.
This is comparing it to my 07 Ultra, 2012 SG, and 05 super glide, and 2010 WG

I just read every page on this thread and feel I am having the same issue with my mount. I noticed everyone was purchasing the HD 47583-90B mount over the JP 434-370 mount. Has anyone tried the JP mount to date? I am curious as I am going to be picking one up soon to try and eliminate the 6th gear vibration, thanks for all the information. Has anyone tried replacing the rear motor mount?

Also I wanted to point out that Kuryakyn makes an ISO Anti-Vibe peg/shifter peg/passenger peg. You can also get your main pegs with a Stirrup option. The entire set can be had on ebay for under $100, I just put the stirrup set on my bike (I have a short inseam and forward controls) and it made a huge difference on how far my feet need to be stretched out. Of course it also helped with minimizing vibrations but I can say the 6th speed vibes are still very well present.

I also was wondering, I couldn't open any of the attached images due to not being authorized to view them. What gives?
