I'll keep you guys posted and put up some pics next week when I get it done. I do like that polished look but since I'm riding an 09, I think the black looks better up against the grey motor. I figure if the coating doesn't hold up I can always rewrap it, use the heat shields that are sitting in the garage, or get it Jet Hot coated next year. I'm picking up the T Bars from WestCoast tomorrow and installing those with Jackyl's tank lift this week. Then dropping the bike off on Monday.
Jcleary, how long did it take them with your bike?
Pipes look great man. You should do another ride to Alice's ( I love that place). There are plenty of twisties out there to test out the clearance on those pipes.

I travel a lot for work, so I'm gone during the week. I told them to take their time, and it was about two weeks. He originally told me a week, and he probably could have had it done, but I told him to take his time. Carlos the fabricator is a cool guy... And so is his boss Jay.

Thanks! I live 15 minutes from Alice's. Can't imagine moving away. Pescadero Road is one of my favorites, along with Highway 9.
I'm looking forward to riding Mines Road from Patterson to Livermore too!
I was wearing a hole in it from right-hand sweepers, even with 13.5" shocks:
And here's the new/improved version:
I've only put a few miles on it, not in the twisties, so I don't know if it will still touch down. Hopefully not. Anyway, got the idea here. Glad a local fabricator could do the work at a good price...
looks great man! I see you ride hwy 35 and hwy 9. Love those roads! I've been riding 9 since I was 17.
An answer to the question, does it scrape? No! It was a perfect mod.
The peg touches down first now. I sold the bike, some other NorCal dude is rippin' on it. I got passed up by it a few months ago on 280 north through San Bruno LOL doing about 90 LOL...
