I have an 07 and it's been bulletproof (knock wood). As far as modding it, the exhaust and seat look to be already done for you, 2 of the most expensive bolt ons, IMO. ( plus the passenger pegs ) That seat looks like the HD "rally runner" I think, I've been using one since 07 and it's an awesome seat, my gf doesn't mind it either. I think that's a pretty decent price for that bike.
I read it fast but I'm assuming along with the pipes the air cleaner + tuner/ download has been done ( stage 1 ). Those 3 alone are probably 1000$ in parts alone.
The Dyna won't be that much more comfortable! So if your shocks will fit on the new bike put them on there. I have put ohlins shocks on mine and don't feel a whole lot different next is the forks but I really want tune-able forks. I don't like the clank clank forks that are on there now. I have a 20111 fxdb.
I have a 2009 Nightster and a 2007 Street Bob, both fun bikes to ride.
I rode the Street Bob from Boise Idaho to Northern Idaho, through the mountains and farm land with a Bare Bones seat, and it wasn't too bad.
(But the Road King is more of a long haul type bike...)
You'll love the Street Bob.
Thanks,
Rod
I think your Iron looks better than that Dyna in the picture lol.
Go for it if you want a Streetbob, apple vs orange, know what I am saying? Dyna has better handling, Sportster is quick, tough call bud! At least price is right on the Dyna, can't go wrong with that.
+1
Always hard to make suggestions for someone else. Additionally you are asking the Dyna's if you should buy a Dyna. I bought my 07 SB in 2010 without any regrets. Minimum mods; I only got forward controls and a detachable sissy, recently installed ZUMO satnav (in all honesty ... it already had SEII exhausts w/ upgraded airfilter and remap, saddlebags, drag steering, other seat).
Good luck in your decision ... go for the Bob (and keep you rims if possible ).
