Default axle size difference btween 1999 znd 2000

I have a 99 dyna narrow glide. On ebay there are some wheels that fit 2000-2003 dyna. I found out that the wheels are the same width, but the axles are 3/4in sealed bearings. On my bikeI have\a 1in bearing. I was wondering if you can change out the the bearing to a 1in Has anyone tried this?ebay has1 in and 3/4 inbearings that are the same diameter.

dglide....
You can see my on going post on this forum under Beginning to build my 21 inch wheel. I installed the bearings (new) yesterday and this will give you an idea of what you face in changing out the bearings.
I am certain the 1 inch and 3/4 inch bearings have the same OD, otherwise the hubs would be drastically different. Check this with a parts manual first before you buy something that will not work. Bearings are $30 each. Your old bearings will be unusable after you remove them because the removal is a destructive process, and the new bearings take some work to install. Do you plan to have a dealer do it for you? I must say I hate seeing people having a dealer do anything that they could do themselves.
My 2003 Dyna Low Rider has a narrowglide front end with a 19 inch wheel and a 3/4 inch axle. I am surprised to hear yours has a 1 inch axle.
FYI: My 3/4 inch axle has six different diameters along the length of it, so be careful about changing out wheels.
What I am doing is building myself a 21 inch wheel for the front to replace the 19 inch cast wheel that came on the Dyna. Recently I bought a 21 inch wheel that came off a late model Sportster on Ebay. It uses a 3/4 inch axle and fits on the Dyna perfect, using the Dyna axle.
I do not like the chrome steel rim and cad plated spokes though, so my project is to build my own 21 inch wheel using an Ankront aluminum rim and stainless steel spokes.
The spokes and rim are stuck in a snowdrift somewhere in the Oklahoma Panhandle at present, but I hope to get them soon.......pg
