Wow, the ride in this morning was crazy stiff. I took off my saddlebags, so I guess that loss of weight (about 15 or 20 lbs) and the longer spacer combined for a much stiffer ride. Since it was dark, I could see my headlight beam bouncing up and down at like 20 Hz (slight exaggeration). I'm taking a turn off the adjusters for the ride home this afternoon to smooth things out a little.
Anyway, I just left a message for Dan at Traxxion to call me so we can arrange an exchange for a lighter spring.
The good news is that it appears cleaning the RSD o-rings worked...no leaks.
I think that is a good call...why wait for any more time to go by.
I think you are on the right path to freakin awesome.
I hope so. Although, I can't really complain. It's been fun tinkering and learning.
Played phone tag with Traxxion all day. They're closed now, so it will have to wait until Monday.
I just finished pulling their springs out and putting the stock springs back in. I also changed the oil again since there was a lot of the residual 15w in there still.
I cut new spacers for the stock springs that were an inch shorter than what they were for ease of getting it in and made up the difference with the RSD adjusters. It was still a PITA, but much easier.
The road test with the stock springs was surprisingly good. I'm getting a feel for how the #5 oil affects the Intiminators. I even stiffened things up a little with the adjusters. I also stiffened up the rear shocks to compliment the stiffer front end. The ride feels pretty good now. I can't wait to see what it's like with the right spring.
It will probably be a week or so before I have any new updates depending on how long Traxxion takes. The last spring was a custom order and took about 10 days.
Can you explain the difference between the new 5w amzoil vs the 10w.
I wish Brian would change that on his website for the newer dyna's. As soon as I put the 10w that they recomended and felt it could be better, he told me to put the 5w in as it was a better choice for the newer dyna's. Wasn't about to throw away brand new oil

Unfortunately, I can't because the indy I paid originally to install my Ricors said they were using Amsoil #10, but that stuff I pumped out was thicker than molasses. There is no way that was #10.
I can tell you that the difference between what was in there and #5 is significant as far as responsiveness.
I still have the "soft shims" that Brian sent me for free. Was thinking about expermenting with those and the 5wt but not very comfortable with taking the intimidators apart. One of his employees actually says he prefered the soft stacks in the dyna's.

Ouch... the same indy shop did some work on my bike a while back and was kind enough to cross thread a missmatched bolt up into one of my Forbiddden risers. I keep the bolt on my work bench as a reminder why I will never spend another dollar there.

Which indy was that? The one in Solana Beach or the one in Old Town? Those are the only two I've used.
Yep...said the same thing after I finished cleaning my pipes and siphoning that extra quart of oil out after my 1K service. I've been pretty happy with Moreland in Solana Beach. They've made a couple mistakes, but always took care of them without being dicks.
