Ok... Glad I wasted time reading this thread. I think one guy shot to **** what a couple of you said.

I say, if one of you "tough guys" think having a bell is such a "sissy" thing to do, I'll introduce you to the biggest and meanest bastard that has a bell on his bike and you can repeat that to him. If you can't do something as simple as that then stfu already. All this keyboard commando bull is tiresome already.

New son-in-law gave me mine as a Christmas gift. Gave him a smile to see the picture of it hanging from the frame. Lots of Facebook friends got a charge out of it too. Nice little conversation starter.

i think alot of you old timers either rode hondas or just really did not ride , i bought my first harley in 1985 and i saw bells on bikes back then . do i believe in the lucky bell , no . my uncle has a bell made out of his dog tags from nam thats been on his pan head for as long as i can remember .
things i think are dumber than bells , ape hangers , skulls , tassles conchos fringe , springer seats on bikes with shocks , suicide shifters but am i making a thread about it , NO

I have one. It's a great conversation starter, lots of people ask about it. Do I believe it will help, yes, because when I look at it I remember someone cares enough about me to get me one. So I probably ride a little safer.

I don't believe in anything special but I was given one by my sister in law and it is now on my bike.

If you don't like it, f**k it.

Would like your opinion on "bells". I've been riding since 1965, and frankly never heard of them until a few years ago. To me, they are the modern day "rabbit's foot" which I also thought was childish.
^^^^^^That is my own personal opinion, and one that I don't give a crap if you or anyone else agrees with. You can put pink handgrip streamers on your bike for all I care.
I asked for other peoples opinions. I was told to start my own thread by someone on the other thread. So I did. Thank you for yours. Ride safe.

Seems like you're guilty of the same thing you don't like in others. Just sayin.

Do I believe they actually do anything? No.

I got one from a member here on this forum 2 days before my brother gave me one. He's a staff engineer for H-D corporate and says they're only really common towards the south.

2 weeks after I bought my bike, someone at work ziptied one to my bike.

I don't believe they do anything and now I have 3 on my bike. My bike sounds like the ice cream truck at red lights.

Why do you care what my (or anyone else's) opinion is. You think they're childish, then don't put one on you bike. Of course, the legend goes it has to be given to you by a friend or loved one. You've been riding since '65 and no one has given you a bell. Hmmmmmmmm
