I WAS NOT asking you what I should do, as a few of you interpreted...

I was merely taking a poll as to if you wear a helmet or not, when not required to do so...

South Dakota: no helmet law. Me: helmet 100% of the time, half helmet for putzing around town, full-face for the highway.

...oh, and we do have a helmet law, even though it's not seriously enforced..

I use a full face helmet 99% of the time, got used to it and feel safe with it on. I think a lot of accidents can be avoided if you pay attention, especially at intersections.

I used to wear a half helmet all the time and a 3/4 with a shield when it got cold. My wife HATED the half helmet so she hid it on me. I was wearing my other helmet when I got hit on my way to work. Apparently you could see the yellow paint from the road on the side of my helmet. Now I a wear a full face helmet year round. When it comes to someone wearing a helmet, hell, to each their own. Just telling you what happened to me.
