My 'education' was a result of my chin hitting the pavement while I was tumbling across the pavement after an unplanned dismount. My 3/4 helmet protected my head but not my face.

I began using FF after that.

Connecticut is a “no helmet law” state but I had to wear one for the MSF course when I got my license. Have worn one ever since. Tried riding without one in the heat of Oklahoma in 2009 and was very uncomfortable without it in spite of the heat.
