Default 03 Superglide questions

Hey guys,

I'm hoping someone can help me out here. I have a 2003 dyna superglide fxd.

I have screamin eagle pipes, but they aren't loud enough. i'm thinking of pulling the baffles so the half deaf people in TX can hear me on the road, but I don't want to lose power. I heard using power cones will help regain the HP. I'm not sure what type of Power cones and whether or not I'll have to have it tuned again.

Also, if anyone knows some good crash bars that connect at the bottom to the lower down tubes or knows how to mod them to connect down there, rather than where the FWD Controls connect, I'd really appreciate some advice on where to find them. My Fwd controls are awesome, but I can't find some good bars to fit my year.

Thanks for any help.

if you remove the baffles you will likely gain some overall Horsepower while also shifting the power curve so more power is produced in the mid-upper RPM ranges. Adding some BCT's baffles, Torque cones and the like will give you some of your low end torque back...

Also you can make Lolipop baffles.. or Pick up some Thunder Torque Inserts from one of our forum sponsers DK Customs. Both are very cheap and work VERY well.

For your hwy bars... someone else hopefully will chime in to confirm but I believe you can use hwy bars for a Wideglide. Since a WG comes stock with forwards they shouldnt interfere with your controls

Riding the same bike with H-D forwards and I got the FXDWG engine guard kit 49010-93.

The only thing I don't like is it attaches with U-bolts at the bottom so I painted the U-bolts black so they don't show up as much.

Tried to upload photo but failed.

Thank you to both of you for your responses. CajunGlider, that's exactly what i'm looking for. I don't know if I have non-standard FWD controls on my bike, but they were installed at Harley. Just seems like nothing is fitting my bike, so if I could find one that attaches to the same location as a normal crashbar, but with an extender to push it away from the downtubes a bit, it may fit fine. Or, since most of them are too narrow, if it can go to the outside and then under my forward controls, rather than bringing the lower bars right across my brake, then It may fit as well. Other than that, I will head over to Harley tomorrow and check out those bars and see if they will work with my controls.

Onemyndseye, I am very interested in using the power cones, but would like to understand exactly what that Lilipop baffle is. Maybe I'm unclear on what a baffle is, but I was under the impression that the long cylindrical tube in the muffler pipe that lowered the volume and controlled the back preasure was the baffle. But when I looked up the lollipop baffles on google, I keep seeing almost exactly what was in the link you posted. can you elaborate a little on what this is?

Thanks,
Sausage
